Canned Motor Pumps VS Magnetic Drive Pumps

Compare to Magnetic Drive Pumps

Advantages of Teikoku & Chempump Canned Motor Pumps

Positive Secondary Containment Standard
Standard mag drive pumps have no secondary containment. Secondary containment is standard in Canned Motor Pumps. The environment is protected and safety is maintained as the containment shell is not subject to damage by rotating parts — like magnets — thereby eliminating the possibility for subsequent leakage.

Canned Motor Pump: Single Motor & Pump Combination
Never a need to align — hot or cold. Motor windings are sealed from the environment. No special foundation is required because canned motor pumps weigh less than conventionally sealed pumps and can never be misaligned.

Canned Motor Pumps Feature Only Two, Maintenance-Free Bearings
Pedestal mounted mag drive pumps have a minimum of six bearings to support all rotating components. These bearings must be checked frequently for proper lubrication and critical tolerance dimensions. Bearings within the single containment shell of mag drive pumps cannot be monitored like canned motor pump bearings.

Reduced Noise Levels
All extra sources of noise are eliminated with canned motor pumps. There are no motor cooling fans required. Rotating parts, such as coupled shafts and bearing pedestal assemblies, are eliminated — greatly reducing noise.
